I’ve got too much going on in my head today to try to put the reasons into words. I’m feeling angry, confused, outraged and ashamed. But I’m also feeling joyful, hopeful and activated.
Even thinking about trying to craft a narrative out of all of this makes me tired today.
I just don’t have any energy to spare because I’m pouring every drop of my soul into the Here4TheKids movement to save the lives of our kids by banning guns. If you haven’t heard about this movement yet, please check it out right now. Our position is that not only are guns the #1 killer of kids in the U.S. now, but also, the Second Amendment is based in white supremacy. Our direct action is happening in Denver on June 5th, 2023, so we need your support immediately.
Instead of writing today, I’m going to share just a few voices that are inspiring me right now.
The first is the amazing Altagracia Montilla on the newest episode of my own podcast (here).
Next up is “Justice Begins With Imagination, Ruha Benjamin” on How to Citizen with Baratunde (here).
And last but certainly not least is “Racism and the Second Amendment, with Carol Anderson” on Now & Then (here).
What voices are uplifting you? Leave a comment to tell me, please.
That’s all for today. I hope the voices I shared will inspire you, too.
In this because I want to live with joy and hope,
Kay
